Duckbill Foot Valve

Meccanica Cremonini designs and manufactures “duckbill” foot valves in hot-dip galvanized steel, ideal for the suction of water containing debris.
These valves are used both in emergency services and in all applications where complete emptying of tanks or basins is required.

Installed on the suction side of the hydraulic system, the duckbill valves retain larger impurities, protecting pumps from potential blockages. Each model is designed to ensure maximum efficiency according to the pipe diameter, while the suction grid allows a wide passage of solid particles, preventing impeller clogging caused by leaves or other debris.

The version with adjustable height system offers maximum operational versatility: in the upper position it ensures full pump flow, while in the lower position it allows complete drainage of the liquid.

Duckbill foot valves are available in various sizes, with spherical connections of different diameters, to adapt to every plant requirement.

Technical characteristics

Duckbill shape:

the angled tip resembles a duck’s bill; this shape allows suction even when the pipe is near the bottom, reducing the risk of drawing in sludge or sand.

Body in aluminum, brass, or galvanized steel:

materials resistant to corrosion and impact, suitable for intensive use and humid environments

Grid or filter mesh:

placed over the opening, retains larger debris, ensuring a regular flow

Quick connection:

generally equipped with UNI or Storz-type coupling compatible with standard fire-fighting or suction pipes
