Frog 3‘ - 4’
Size S
The Frog series diaphragm pumps are of the reciprocating volumetric type. The diaphragm is attached to a connecting rod that is mechanically moved by a crank mounted on the output of a speed reducer.
The movement of liquid in the pump body generated by the movement of the diaphragm is controlled at the suction and delivery sides by two poppet valves. During the suction phase, the diaphragm moves upwards, creating a vacuum that draws in the liquid by opening the suction valve.
When the diaphragm moves downwards, the suction valve closes by gravity and, at the same time, the liquid is expelled through the delivery valve, which opens during this phase.
For this type of pump, it is necessary for the delivery pipe to be of adequate diameter and free to discharge the pumped liquid to prevent the delivery pressure from exceeding the permitted limit, causing membrane breakage or damage to mechanical parts.
To prevent the pump's vibrations from being transmitted to the pipes, it is advisable to connect it to the system with pieces of crush-resistant flexible pipe.
